School Council
We want all students to feel that they have a voice at Trinity and that they are part of a community where their opinions are heard and considered. The School Council endeavours to give students that voice.
There are 3 tiers to our Student Council:
The School Council focuses and consults with students on four areas that affect our school and wider community:
What the School Council has done in recent years:
- Run the annual Christmas Foodbank appeal to support Thorne and Moorends Foodbank and Moorends Miners Welfare
- Organised a special Christmas event for our elderly neighbours and local care home residents
- Provided care packages to local residents
- Consulted with students about the type of rewards they would like in our Rewards Shop
- Staffed and run the Rewards Shop
- Run events to support Red Nose Day and the Turkey - Syria Earthquake appeal
- Publicised three charities from which the students could select where they wanted their Sponsored Walk donations to go
- Organised the Great British Spring Clean
- The Queen's Green Canopy
- Been instrumental in the return of House Assemblies and a wider variety of House competitions
- Consulted over our new toilet arrangements and a new protocol for moving to assembly
- Been involved in providing Student Voice feedback for areas such as Personal Development, Careers Education and the PE Curriculum
